to receive TA support from organizations that serve each of STEPP’s priority populations. The Center is funded to support STEPP grantees in developing a shared understanding and building local public health and community-based organizational capacity to advance health and racial equity within tobacco control through examination of the following, their impact on health, and identification of applicable solutions/action steps for public health practice:
- Root causes of health inequities, including racism
- Structural and systemic racism
- Power & privilege
- Oppression
- Social determinants of health
- Tobacco’s toll on each priority population
- Principles of social justice and tobacco
