Native American Heritage Month

November is Native American (AIAN) heritage month, and according to the 2020 US census approximately 2.9 percent of the U.S. population, or roughly 3.7 million Americans and in Colorado 0.9% identify themselves as having Native American or Alaska Native heritage. Read and get to know about ground breaking and remarkable stories and significant contributions of AIAN Coloradans to Colorado’s history, community, and equitable access to community resources. Tobacco use among Colorado’s NIAN population remains high even as we see a decrease in tobacco use among the general population. Review, use and share these smoke free resources to address commercial tobacco use in NIAN communities. For more Information, please use the link below.
