New Local Decision Makers: Post 2020 Elections

As some city councils and county commissions are welcoming new decision-makers to office, the CSPH TA team wants to remind grantees about the importance of keeping up with local elected officials.

Decision-makers ultimately hold the key to success in local policy efforts and other important community work. Their work experience, ideals, political affiliation, and connections all have impacts on what messaging, organizing, and policy recommendations you use. Please take a moment to check through your city councils and county commissions/boards’ websites for new members - and update your planning documents accordingly. You can find materials for these processes listed below. You may not use all of these while assessing new decision-makers, but they are helpful to review as a refresh so you’re ready to hit the ground running when new policy directions present themselves:

As always, don’t hesitate to reach out to your designated Policy TA provider. We’re here and happy to help!
