People + Power = Possibility

Thursday, February 23, 2023 from 12:00 p.m. – 1:30 p.m. Power matters. It drives the conditions that Coloradans experience daily, from consuming information to accessing care. Like racism, insufficient power is a barrier to advancing health equity. Power imbalances cause and reinforce structural issues that produce an unjust and unequal distribution of the social, economic and environmental benefits that influence health outcomes. Yet, we all have the power to create change! Understanding and exercising your power is fundamental to advancing racial and health equity and dismantling systems that perpetuate inequity. To discuss power, we must first understand what it is, who has it, and why and how we can generate power to make the change we want.
