QuitLine Youth Landing Page and Youth Cessation Resource Fact Sheet

STEPP is continuing our efforts to increase access to tailored support for Colorado youth who are concerned about vaping or other tobacco use. This spring, we launched COyouthquitline.org, a dedicated landing page that features youth-focused cessation information, links to get started with QuitLine support, and additional resources. Through April, youth enrollments in the QuitLine (153) have already more than tripled FY18 youth enrollment numbers. November saw a huge spike in youth sign-ups with the start of paid media and news reporting about youth vaping and the QuitLine in many outlets, plus grantee promotion and health systems activities. Paid media was paused in February to create the custom youth landing page. The paid media has been mostly on Facebook, with push ads on apps starting in late March. To help communicate the availability of QuitLine and other cessation resources for youth in Colorado, STEPP developed a 1-pager that was designed for use by adults working in youth-serving settings. Adults who work with youth can use this resource to help guide discussions with young people who are starting to reconsider their tobacco use or vaping and who are interested in getting help. These resources are not for youth who have no potential interest in quitting, but they can be helpful for youth who may not be ready to quit yet, but are starting to have concerns about their use. Please share this resource broadly with your partners and use it as part of your community education and outreach efforts.
