Resources: Tobacco Focused Community Profile
In FY24, local public health agency grantees will conduct a tobacco-focused community assessment and create a profile highlighting those findings. The exact date of the TFCP launch is still to be determined, but our earliest prediction is the launch will take place in September. To prepare LPHA grantees for the launch, STEPP will regularly communicate updates in upcoming newsletters, email blasts, and monthly STEPP update calls with grantees from May-September. The purpose of the tobacco-focused community profile (TFCP) is to make data-driven decisions when selecting STEPP strategy(ies) that have the most promise in eliminating disparities and reducing the burden of commercial tobacco in your communities. This process includes assessing community and organizational needs, opportunities, and readiness, providing your team with the information you need to make culturally sensitive, data-driven decisions when using local resources to reduce tobacco use and exposure. Please join the May 3 STEPP Update Call to hear a brief overview of the STEPP planning that is underway, and the expected improvements to this process for FY24.
