Smoking, Cessation and Mortality–Race, Ethnicity and Sex
Researchers compared all-cause mortality among various groups and found that current smoking was associated with higher mortality risk compared with never smoking (over double), but that cessation before 45 still conferred significant protection across demographic categories.
