Updated Consumer- and Provider-Facing Medicaid Materials
Health First Colorado (Medicaid) members remain a critical population to serve with smoking cessation resources. 23% of people on Medicaid are daily smokers compared to only 6.3% of people with private health insurance. Promoting the Medicaid cessation benefit to both consumers and medical providers can increase the usage of the benefit. Members get free quit-smoking benefits, including counseling and medication with no copay. Materials for providers include an at-a-glance benefit card, a detailed provider fact sheet, and the one-page benefit chart. Consumer materials include a palm card detailing the benefit and encouraging members to talk to their doctor about quitting smoking. The palm card is available in English and Spanish. Share these materials widely with health systems and health neighborhood sites. They are also available in this folder. Please reach out to Zach Dunlop, zach.dunlop@state.co.us, to share ways you’ve used the resources and any feedback you have or feedback you’ve received about these materials.
