UpRISE releases two virtual trainings on best practices in youth work:
UpRISE is excited to announce the release of two new sustainability trainings created to help support adult coordinators and LPHAs working with youth! Both trainings can be found on our website: Virtual Youth Engagement through a Social Justice Lens: This 15-minute training provides tips to keep virtual meetings engaging for young people and suggests activities using the core principles of the Social Justice Youth Development framework. While the training was created to help guide adults working with youth in local youth coalitions, it will be useful to anyone looking to create an engaging online environment. Building and Maintaining a Youth Board: From building a youth board from the ground up to support long-term youth engagement, this 20-minute training focuses on practices that support authentic power-sharing between youth and adults. Learn how to set young people up for success, embrace your role as an adult coordinator, and employ best practices for retention. This training concludes with tips from young people on how to be a good adult partner. If you have any questions, please contact Heather Kennedy at heather.kennedy@cuanschutz.edu.
