UpRISE’s video: Tobacco as a Social Justice Issue

UpRISE invites you to view (and share) the newly released

13-minute long video,

“Tobacco as a social justice issue: The UpRISE story”.

Narrated by Colorado’s Poet Laureate, Bobby LeFebre, this video introduces you to the twenty youth coalitions across the state and explains tobacco as not only an issue of health, but one of social justice.

Local Public Health Agencies can use this video both as a tool for staff education and to support the statewide movement. We invite you to learn about the root causes of teen tobacco and nicotine use in Colorado as identified by the coalitions of young people across the state. This introduction to UpRISE offers ways adults can increase their knowledge and skills to engage with youth in social justice issues related to tobacco, and how to co-create solutions that advance true equity. Please share this video widely with your networks.
