Welcome Shannon Murphy
Please join us in welcoming Shannon Murphy (she/her) to STEPP as the new Tobacco Policy & Community Inclusion Generalist. Shannon grew up in Alexandria, VA, and studied global public health at UNC-Chapel Hill (go Tar Heels!). She worked for a non-profit in Nepal and then in the corporate sector in the States until the pandemic reignited her passion for public health. She pursued a Master of Public Health in community-oriented public health from the University of Washington and worked as a program & policy manager on Seattle-King County’s Violence and Injury Prevention team. In 2023, Shannon, her partner Matt, and their senior dog Scottie moved to Fort Collins and have fully embraced Colorado’s rich backpacking, trail running, skiing, brewery, and concert scene. When not enjoying the great outdoors, she volunteers at the animal shelter and offsets any fitness progress by baking indulgent sweet treats. Shannon is thrilled to be part of the STEPP team and work with all of you!
