Welcome To Our New Tobacco State & Community Generalist, Amanda Nichols!

Hello! My name is Amanda Nichols (she, her), and I have recently joined the team as a Tobacco Policy Generalist! Prior to joining the state Tobacco Unit team, I was a technical assistance provider for grantees on Tobacco Free Schools policy at RMC Health. My work with local public health agencies to partner with district and school partners to prevent youth tobacco use created a passion for equitable tobacco control. In addition to my tobacco prevention experience, I bring expertise in community engagement rooted in Inclusion, Diversity, Equity, and Accessibility (IDEA). For fun, I love cooking, spending time with my family, reading non-fiction, and dancing to great music. I can’t wait to work with everyone in the Prevention Services Division.
