Weld County Public Health Refer Community Members to the Quitline

Weld County United Way hosted its 14th annual Project Connect on October 17th. This event is unusual because clients choose which of the stations they want to visit and then are assigned a volunteer navigator who will walk with them throughout the exposition center to help them meet all of their needs. There are hundreds of people who volunteer to be navigators. Some of the more than 70 services included resume help, haircuts, housing assistance, receiving a library card, legal assistance, immunizations, and learning about tobacco cessation. The Weld County Department of Public Health and Environment’s Tobacco Program referred 27 people online to the Quitline and gave resources to six others. The previous year’s Project Connect helped 750 guests.
