What Partnerships and Collaborations are Happening Across Colorado?

Partnerships and collaborations are essential in tobacco control work. The Second Chance program–a web-based, interactive, and self-directed alternative to suspension education program for youth who have violated a tobacco policy at school or tobacco law in the community–is one way to start our conversation of partnership and collaboration. RMC Health partners with Local Public Health Agencies and partners to promote the Second Chance program. This month, we met with Melinda Sentance and Nikayta Neu from the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment to discuss our partnership and collaboration in this tobacco control work. Currently, the Pueblo Department of Public Health and Environment provides safe disposal containers and collects vapes and other electronic nicotine devices in support of proper disposal of these harmful products. Check out their poster! This is kept in their office to remind them of the important work this group of dedicated professionals engages in. RMC Health will continue to support Local Public Health Agencies in providing technical assistance to help them continue exemplary work in promoting Second Chance and tobacco-free schools policy as they, in turn, support schools and their local communities. For more information about Second Chance, please visit the RMC Health website. To request Technical Assistance, please complete the TA form.
